Electronic Cash Register – Reliable, Easy to Use and Handy!
Electronic cash register runs on software and does the basic functions of a
cash register. These include calculating total amount for a sale, recording
sales transactions, printing receipts etc.
The cash drawer for keeping the money, as well as the receipt printer for
printing the receipt, are parts of the cash register and come with it. Sharp
electronic cash registers are among the best sellers in the field of

Sharp produces many different types of electronic cash registers, from the
basic version to models which have many improvements.
You have models like Sharp XE-A106, which is a basic type of cash register
with eight pre programmed departments and eighty price look ups. The
departments can be used to separate products. There are separate departments
for vated items (items with value added tax) as well as separate departments
for non vated items.
The eighty price look ups help you to manage prices even if you could not
remember them. The price look ups help improve print speed as well as provide
quieter operation.
The XE-A106 also has a large display, a key pad which is from Microban and
hence is protected from microbes, and flash reporting which provides up to
date basic sales analysis. All you have to do is press on the flash key and
you get a report of the day’s sales.
It also has four separate clerk numbers which help you to monitor sales by
four clerks.
The XE-A101 and XE-A102 cash registers are similar to XE-A106 with similar
functions except that XE-A101 has only four pre programmed departments.
The XE-A101 has memory equipped calculator function which allows you to
calculate the total. This can be activated with a mode switch.
The XE-A102 has a 14 mm display and drum printing for heavy duty use. It also
has an automatic tax system with two tax tables and four add-ons. The cash
drawer is locking and has 4 slots for notes or bills, 5 slots for coins and a
media slot.
These basic models such as Sharp XE-A101, XE-A102 and XE-A106 are suitable for
small businesses and stores.
A much higher model is the XE-A206. The XE-A206 electronic cash registers have
99 pre-programmed departments and 2000 price look ups. The key tops are
Microban for anti bacterial protection. The printing method is thermal
printing which is faster and quieter.
The XE-A206 has two high contrast LED displays, one for customer and one for
the operator. There is an SD card slot for data transfer and back up and PC
link software (USB/SD card) which is useful for easy programming.
You can add logos and graphics to receipts by means of a graphics tool. The
Sharp XE-A206 also has a linkup to QuickBooks accounting software.
Likewise there are many other electronic cash register models from Sharp with
additional or different functions. For example, you have XE-A406 and XE-A42S
which have dual roll tapes for printing customer as well as operator receipts.
The XE-A506, in addition to these features, has a scanner for faster and more
accurate checkout.
These higher models are useful for a slightly bigger store, fast food or café
outlet.
Other than the different models of cash registers, Sharp also manufactures
point of sale systems for use by large department stores, grocery stores etc.
